The S332C cable and antenna analyzer features spectrum analysis capability and optional power meter capability in addition to Return Loss/ SWR (also known as VSWR, for Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) and Cable Loss measurements, as well as Distance to Fault (DTF) analysis using Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR). These capabilities give field engineers and technicians the ability to easily identify and solve RF system problems such as coverage, interference, and other path related signal problems. S332D spectrum analysis ranges from 100 kHz to 3 GHz with smart button measurements - Field Strength, Occupied Bandwidth (OBW), Channel Power, Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR), Interference Analysis and Carrier-to-Interference ratio (C/I).

Covering the 25 MHz to 4000 MHz spectrum is the de facto industry standard for installing, provisioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless base station cable and antenna systems. Option 2 and Option 16 extend the lower and upper frequency ranges to 2 MHz and 6 GHz respectively. Accurate, versatile, affordable, rugged and a true handheld at under 5 pounds (including battery), Site Master is ideally suited for field technicians of any experience level working with VHF, broadcasting, paging, cellular, PCS/GSM, 3G, 4G, ISM, WLAN and WLL applications.

S332C measurement capability includes precision Return Loss/SWR, Cable Loss and optional T1/E1 and power meter measurements. Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) provides superior Distance to Fault (DTF) analysis to locate faults accurately. Patented RF interference rejection enables accurate, repeatable measurements in the presence of high RF activity. Data analysis software enables assessment of system trends, problems, and performance in addition to professional report generation.

<3.5 msec Sweep Speed Per Data Point saves the technician time and enables easier identification of intermittent problems in real time. FlexCal broadband calibration 25 MHz to 4 GHz allows troubleshooting cable and antenna systems without multiple calibrations and calibration setups. Built-In Worldwide Signal Standards eliminates the need to remember system frequencies and manually input the start and stop frequency values. Built-In Average Cable Loss eliminates the need to calculate a measured cable loss value. Built-In Power Meter Option measures the base station transmitter power accurately. The High Accuracy Power Meter (option 19) provides true RMS measurements from 50 MHz to 6 GHz.

Viavi JD745A and JD7105B Base Station Analysers contain all of the features and capabilities required to perform field testing of wireless technologies at mobile base station/cell sites, from 2G to 4G. This combined functionality includes spectrum analysis, cable and antenna analysis, power meter, interference analysis, channel scanner, E1/T1 analysis, and signal analysis.

The Base Station Analysers have an easy, helpful user interface. The interface is consistent and intuitive across all of the multiple functions. This creates a common menu structure that is easy to use. Built-in help guides users through each measurement task. Screenshots of any functions can be saved as a graphic file for report generation and traces can be saved for post-analysis into the instrument's internal memory or external USB memory device. The stored data easily transfers to a PC through a USB or Ethernet port.

The Viavi Base Station Analysers have one of the best sensitivity and selectivity specifications. With the built-in preamplifier, measurements can be taken at as low as -160 dBm (JD7105B) with a 1 Hz RBW. The low SSB phase noise allows you to detect very low level spurs or noise signals which are close to the carrier. The narrow (1 Hz) bandwidth ensures the identification of signals that are very close in frequency. In addition, the narrow RBW means that the displayed noise level can be reduced, improving sensitivity. An Auto Sweep time and Auto RBW/VBW allows an easy set up for a fast sweep time whilst ensuring accurate measurement.

These Base Station Analysers have a strong enclosure for harsh environments and the backlit key panel makes nocturnal maintenance tasks possible.

  • Multiple functions in one platform
  • Notification of RF problems before customer complains
  • Ensure signal quality to guarantee value added services
  • One-button standards based measurements of wireless signals
  • Easy to upgrade and future-proof
  • Capable of demodulation all
  • wireless technologies up to LTE
  • Easy to use Auto-Measure function presenting the RF and Modulation analysis in a summary screen

The majority of problems in wireless networks occur at the base station infrastructure composed of the antenna system, cables, and connectors. These problems are typically related to the cable feed line (coax or fiber), and until now you needed multiple instruments--one for RF and another for Fiber. The majority of fiber issues are associated with end contamination, and with increased deployment in cell sites you need to test both.  The JD723C/JD724C can inspect your RF coax cabling as well as your fiber. It is essential to have the optimal instrument for properly servicing or installing cell sites and the JD720C is that tool.
The JD720 family has all of the measurement functions necessary to accurately verify the cell-site transmission line and antenna system from signal reflections (VSWR or Return Loss) to RF or optical transmission power and DTF (Distance to Fault.)  It also enables the inspection of cell site fiber links via the P5000i microscope and measures optical power using the JDSU MP60/80 optical power sensors.
